Equity and Efficiency of Rural Residential Land Use System in China:
An Analysis of Survey Data
Abstract: Based on a number of surveys in rural areas, this article has discussed on the equality and efficiency of rural residential land use system in China. Studies have found that Chinese rural house site management in general, which has although met the farmers’ equality requirement for the housing land occupied, is inefficient in land use, relatively negative in China's economic development. With appropriate land reclamation covered by Villages and revising the regulations about rural house site, the government would create better conditions for China's economic development.
