Abstract: Cultural Revolution: Testimonies of 14 Witnesses from Nanjing University by Dong Guoqiang is a breath of innovation in the field of oral history about the Chinese Cultural Revolution. The author compiled the personal experience of 14 witnesses who were at Nanjing University during the period and conducted a survey using the method of oral history on this subject. With careful selection and elaborate exploration of historical materials, the author manages to restore for the reader an overall view and provide first-hand information of the event. This book not only enriches the practice of oral history, but serves as an amendment and a supplement thereto as well.
