There have been large-scale transformations of cross-strait political, economic and social phenomenon and institutes since 2000. Meanwhile, the cross-strait interactions have been more intense.
In the political dimension, the ruling party rotated twice in Taiwan in the past decade, and the political situations inside the island have changed dramatically. In China, after the 16th National Conference of Communist Party of China, the Hu-Wen Administration has been accomplished and the leaders of China will change again in 2012. In the decade after 2000, the political situations have changed a lot both in Taiwan and China. Meanwhile, after Ma Ying Jeou won the president election in 2008, the cross-strait political interactions have hit a record high.
