Chinese society has experienced dramatic and incredible social, economic and political changes in the last sixty years. Population size, growth, and structure are considered as part of the major concerns and issues during this period under the cumulated so-called 5,000 years of culture heritages, traditions and various religions. There are many positive and negative effects of population changes on the political, economic and social development. We need to carefully re-consider from scientific point of view the following questions:
